Motorised Blinds and Curtains

Motorised blinds and curtains have a motor attached to them for easier operation and they are operated using a wall switch or a remote control. In some cases, you may be able to include your motorised blinds in your home automation system for even more control. Imagine a home having great looking windows. Perhaps they’re even efficient and Low-E windows that keep the heat out and the cool in. Even the most efficient windows remain thermal holes, though, unless assisted by the proper window treatments to cut solar heat gain or let it in—either to help heat or cool a house and save on energy costs

Motorized window treatments go an energy-efficient step further, and can be set to open and close automatically to help homeowners save more energy. It is a misconception that motorised blinds and curtains are restricted to the rich and elite. They have become an affordable addition for new and old homes of all scales. When it’s sunny on a hot day, the shades or blinds can close to keep your home cooler and use less air conditioning. On a cold winter’s day they can open to let the sun shine in and heat a space, precluding expensive heating costs.

Just about any type of blind that can be operated manually can also be motorised. These include Holland blinds, roller blinds, Roman blinds, Venetian blinds, vertical blinds, cellular blinds, wooden blinds, faux wood blinds, and skylight blinds. Motorisation is especially good for difficult to reach blinds. Motorised blinds can be wired into the home electricity system or they can operate using long lasting batteries. The basic functions these blinds do are simple.

  1.  Raise and lower – They allow you to raise or lower you’re blind as required using the remote control or wall switch.
  2.  Tilt – They operate the slats within wooden or fax wood blinds, allowing you to have them anywhere from fully open to fully closed.
  3.  Raise, lower, and tilt – All three features are available on some types of sheer horizontal blinds, giving you maximum control over how much light enters the room.

Rekha Décor has a variety of options with great designs for all budgets. Motorized window dressings also work to balance natural and artificial light, and are often used to block glare and prevent furniture from fading under harmful ultraviolet rays. Blinds are a great window covering for any home and with motorised blinds; the ease of use and control is greater than ever before.
